Dr. Doug Maughan

50 Years - 3 Generations - Thousands of Memories

In 1958, Dick Lambert, along with 3 missionary companions decided to charter a flight to New Zealand to take their family and friends to the dedication of the Aukland, New Zealand Temple. They had such great success they decided to start Beehive Tours & Travel. Dick's son Chris joined the Beehive Team in 1971. Beehive had many years of success and Chris moved up the ranks to become chairman of the board.

in 1990, Chris decided to start his own company, Destinations, Inc and soon after LDS World Travel, a division of Destinations, inc. Now almost 2 decades later thousands of friends and clients have experienced the church history sites and Israel. for themselves and know there is just no substitute to being on the sites. In 2006 LDS World Travel was selected by the Joseph Smith Papers Project to lead them on a tour for the filming of the Joseph Smith Papers Documentary seen on Salt Lake City-based KJZZ television.

Chris' sons Rick & Kip joined his team in 1996 and have now assumed daily operation of the business. Rick & KIP oversee the group and incentive division of Destinations, inc and as of 2011, Dr. Doug Maughan is the managing director of LDS World Travel.

In 1997 the Lamberts invited Dr. Doug Maughan to Direct their Religious travel study trips. He has worked for the LDS Church Educational system for 27 years, He Lectured at the Martin Harris Pageant in Clarkston Utah Directed Travel Study for BYU and has Participated in writing Institute Manuals and Church History training manuals for the LDS Church Curriculum Dept. Doug and Jennifer are the parents of 10 wonderful children.


In 2011, Doug was invited to Organize Humanitarian and Medical service trips for "one Life at a time". A humanitarian company that runs three schools in Central America. This has been very inspiring and rewarding.
